Are ther problems with the 2008 Pontiac G8 transmission?

I am particularly interested in purchasing a G8. But I am hesitant because I know nothing about the Australian technology involve in the developement of the power train/transmission. Please help me

Hello, if you are referring to problems related to the transmission on this car I can tell you that to date and as far as I know the only problems that have been encountered so far are a problem with a front axle seal leak on some of them and with some of them having a problem with a slip in 3rd gear. This is with the 4T80E transmission only. In fact GM has come out with a service bulletin regarding these issues. I am not aware of any problems with the 6L50 - 80 or 90 or the 5L40 - 50E so far.
