Hi , thankyou or using justanswer. Ok , now you say a rattle sound. is it more of a rattle an a ticking sound. Falcon engines are more know for a ticking sound rather than a rattle. If it is a rattle noise , it should be comming from the front of the engine, that is where the chain is. 107000 km s is not alot for one of these engines to be have timming chain problems. Dose the car have a good service history. sometimes if the motor is not service when it should be , you can get a buildup in some of the small oil chambers thus slowing oil pressure flow.

To try and help solve your problem , you could ask your machanic to use a higher grade oil at your next service. tell him your problem so he knows why he is doing this.

hope this helps you . please let me know if i can help anymore

Service history unknown but when i got the car at 98,000 Kms the oil was pitch black as if not changed for long time changed oil and filter then. Yes car is slow to build full oil pressure on morning start up. Curently using Valvoline XLD 20w-50 will give car another oil change and filter to be on safe side. It appears noise comes from the front of the engine it is definately not Valve lifter Noise. Much more rattle than lifter Ticking. anything further will be appreciated

Thanks

Hi Thanks Jeff just used an engine flush Directions stated add flush run engine 10 - 15 minutes then change oil and filter while still warm Ran car 25 - 30 minutes did oil change and filter. Have noticed on oil gauge that car is extremely slow to get oil pressure on first morning startup. Do you recommenend the Deisel flush solution, or could there be another problem. Car seems to run normal oil pressure after it actually pumps up and does not vary under normal driving conditions sorry for being so long winded but I'm trying to give as much information as possible
thanks Jeff

Thanks Jeff

how do i check to see if the noise is in fact the harmonic balancer. As suggested in the previous reply. I have pretty much ruled out oil pressure issues.

Only makes Noise first up in the Morning for abou 1 minute then goes away also after sitting at work all day usually about a 10 hour work day same makes noise for about 1 minute and goes away does not appear to be getting any worse but its the only thing about the car that annoys me and has me concerned
